I have been coming to Fit4Life for nine years. It has been one of the best decisions I have made. Since I have retired, I am not sure if it is easier or harder to get here; but I do not want to give it up.
Fit4Life has been an important factor in helping me maintain a healthy lifestyle. I have improved my strength, stamina and energy level allowing me to keep up with my husband and friends. Outdoor activities like cross-country skiing, hiking, biking and paddling are all much more fun. Feeling fit has motivated me to make healthful changes in my eating habits that have led to losing weight and keeping it off. I walk daily, eat right, and come to Fit4Life two or three times a week. Thanks Dave, for providing a great facility. -Nancy Johnson
Nancy has been a member of Fit4Life since nearly it’s beginnings. And now that she’s retired from teaching kids, she could be teaching her peers about commitment to exercise! Even though Nancy lives in Bangor, she still makes the drive over here to exercise because she realizes the benefits she can gain from just 2-3 workouts per week.
I always tell people that exercise after 50 is about keeping healthy & strong to enjoy your retirement. What’s the sense of working for years and being too out of shape or sick to enjoy the fruits of your labors? Nancy is a fantastic example of what “retirement” should be! She is actively enjoying life at a time when some folks her age see their doctors more often then they exercise!
Congratulations Nancy and keep up the super work in the gym!!
